Here is Joan trying out to be a Green Bay Cheerleader!!! Notice all her fans in the stands!!! Blog next .....
Lambau Stadium is home for the Green Bay Packers NFL Football team. We stopped just outside of Green Bay for a pit stop and then continued in to Green Bay. Wow we could have parked 500 Airstream units and still had room for 500 more. The size of this place is the first thing that gets your attention. We made our way into the large complex to Curly’s Pub and had a delicious lunch. In the front entrance window I counter 1,000 windows each 4’ x 4’ and they had to long high lifts cleaning the windows one inside and one outside. The massive foyer is one half of a football field with grid lines imbedded in the colorful floor and the grid lines are parallel to the west end of the actual field. Our guide “Larry” first took us outside in front of the statues to explain that the 295 million dollar renovations in 2003 were done by the City of Green Bay. The stadium is owned by the city not the team. The stadium is more than a stadium it is used 365 days a year for conventions, birthday parties they had 36 weeding last year. They accommodate 450,000 visitors like us each year. Conventions and business meeting are held here continuously. There was a group using the 4th level that we did not get to see. The stadium has 7 levels on one side and 6 on the other, 168 box suites that rent out for 58,000 to 168,000 per season. General bench seats cost 58 to 158 dollars. There are over 8,000 people waiting to get seats, Of the 72,000 total seats only about 200 seats change hands each year. There are two very large statues in front of the massive building. One is of Curly Lambeau who started the Green Bay Packers in 1919. He was a star player and coach with record world wins. Vince Lombardi came along in 1960’s to again become one of the winningest coaches of all time. Our group rode the elevator to the 6th level where we were escorted to one of the 168 sky box suits. WOW what a view behind large glass windows. Our guide pointed out dozens of interesting facts about the new stadium completed in 2003. The original bench seats remained and the stadium seats were added and the 6 levels of sky boxes. He explained how they get rid of the snow by shoveling to the isles that have metal sheets that form a shut down to the field where high loaders load the snow onto dump trucks that haul it away. Green Bay has a population of 102,000. The stadium holds 72,000. We got to go down to the field level and walk through the tunnel where the players come out onto the field and they played the sound of a large crowd cheering as we approached the field. We then sat at field level behind the goal post uprights and could get a feeling of the size of this football shaped stadium. After our tour we then checked out the Packers Hall of Fame, Curly’s Game Zone, Curly’s Pub, Frozen In Time Ice-Cream Parlor, Packers Pro Shop, and the Extra Points Store. Our 5 Airstreams were all parked in a neat row in one corner of the large parking lot.

Bill & Joan Bucher are on a caravan checking out the Light Houses around Wisconsin...Looks like Fun!!

Here's some shots from John Strawser on his Trip to New Brunswick
It has stopped raining, actually some time ago, and I've busied myself grazing on the surf and turf, wonderful grass fed beef and just off the boat lobster, with mussels and oysters for appetizers. Then I paddle and peddle in the morning the next morning, with the afternoon devoted to massive intakes of vitamin C on the sands. Life's very good here. See the pix from the Wolfschanze. John
